Crazy Paving
The flagship course of The Landscaping School is our Crazy Paving course. You’ll learn not only how to cut in the pavers, which is the most important part for great looking crazy paving, but you’ll learn how to do crazy paving up steps, where it looks like the steps have been carved from stone!
Natural Stone cladding
In this course you’ll learn how to shape and install three different styles of stone cladding with two different options for each: tight joint or grouted. The three different style are drystone walling, random ashlar and free form walling
Concreting basics
In our concreting basics course you’ll learn the basics of concreting! This is not a course for architectural concreting, but you will learn how to mix and pour a concrete slab which you can then finish in one of the three styles shown in this course, or you can pave over it.
Rigid / Mortar paving
There are two types of paving: rigid and flexible. And in this course you’ll learn the rigid style, which is laying on a mortar base, the same way most high end landscapers pave. You’ll learn not only how to lay the pavers, but things to look out for when setting out the paved area.
Flexible / brick paving
In this course you’ll learn how to pave on a “flexible” base of compacted crushed rock and sand. This is not only the way I first learnt to pave, but it’s also the most cost effective in materials and labour. In this particular course I lay bricks on the sand, but it can be done using almost any pavers with consistent thickness. An underrated way to pave!
Decking and timber steps
I’ll show you how to set out and build a deck with steps in this course and will also show multiple different ways you can go about doing so. There are 4 different options for posts/footings and I use 4 different types of timber for the decking boards before then using recycled timber for the steps.
Pondless Waterfall
In this FREE course, I’ll talk you through how I went about installing a pondless waterfall and it’s a lot easier than it looks. The reason for this course being free is so that you can watch it to get an understanding of how the courses work before committing to a paid option. Aquascape also provide their own free course on how to install a pondless waterfall, and have done more than I have (2) so are well worth checking ot if you’re heading down this path.
